How this works — and why it's private
- Your WAV files are decoded locally with the browser's Web Audio engine — nothing is uploaded.
- Each file is re-encoded to MP3 using the LAME encoder compiled to WebAssembly. 192 kbps is the sweet spot for music; use 96 or 128 for speech to shrink files further.
- Batch queue converts files one at a time to keep memory low. When two or more finish, a "Download all as ZIP" button appears.
- Options like mono downmix and 22,050 Hz sample rate can cut file size in half for spoken content.
